Antioxidant-Rich Morning Smoothie

Antioxidants help our body in removing free radicals from the bloodstream and help against premature aging.

Antioxidants are essential for longevity and overall health. In addition to slowing the signs of aging, they help in preventing cancer, support the immune system, help in preventing heart diseases, reduce the risk of dementia and improve eye sight.

 

Ingredients:

3 Bananas

10 Fresh Dates

1 cup of Blueberries

2 Tbsp of Acai Powder

2 tsp OptiMSM Flakes

1 tsp Acerola Cherry Powder

1/2 cup of Oat Milk (or any other plantbased milk)

Waterย  as much as desired

Delicious Green Smoothie/ My Breakfast

Yes, this smoothie is green and it actually tastes good. In fact, I go as far and say it is delicious. I must admit, as much as I love living a healthy lifestyle, I was never a big fan of green smoothies. They just tasted bad in my opinion. However, then I created this recipe and I just look forward every morning to drink it. It tastes delicious. The dates make it a sweet treat in the morning.

 

Ingredients

(makes ca. 900 ml or 4 cups)

  • 1 handful of lettuce
  • 2 kale leafs
  • 2 handful of spinach
  • half an apple
  • half a celery stick
  • 8 dates
  • 2 bananas
  • parsley (optional)
  • 150 ml or 5/8 cup coconut water
  • 80 ml or 1/3 cup oat milk ( or whatever vegan milk you prefer)
  • 180 ml or 3/4 cup water
  • 2 tsp lemon juice (optional)

Usually, I tend to put all the greens first in the blender together with the liquids, then I add all the other stuff and blend it again.

Feel free to mix and match all different kinds of greens and fruit according to what is available and in season. However, I really recommend to include the dates as they make this smoothie extra sweet.
